NiceFreelance ("we," "us," or "our") operates NiceFreelance.com (the "Platform"). This Refund Policy outlines when and how refunds are issued for payments made through our secure escrow system.

By using NiceFreelance.com, you agree to this Refund Policy. All refund decisions are final and made at our discretion.

1. General Refund Rule

No automatic refunds. Once a milestone is approved or a project is marked complete, funds are released to the freelancer and are non-refundable.

Refunds are only available under specific conditions outlined below.

2. When Refunds Are Available

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • Project Canceled Before Start: Client cancels before the freelancer accepts the project or begins work.
  • Mutual Agreement: Both client and freelancer agree in writing (via platform messages) to cancel and refund.
  • Non-Delivery: Freelancer fails to deliver any work by the agreed deadline and does not respond within 48 hours of a formal notice.
  • Material Breach: Freelancer delivers work that is fundamentally different from the agreed scope (e.g., wrong language, wrong format, plagiarized content).

3. When Refunds Are NOT Available

No refund will be issued if:

  • The client approved a milestone or marked the project as complete
  • The freelancer delivered work meeting the original project description
  • The client changed requirements after work began
  • Disputes are raised more than 14 days after milestone approval or project closure
  • Funds have already been released from escrow

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Open a Dispute in the project workspace within 14 days of milestone approval or project closure.
  2. Provide clear evidence (screenshots, files, messages) supporting your claim.
  3. Our team will review within 3–5 business days.

We may request additional information or mediate between parties.

5. Refund Processing

If approved:

  • Refund is returned to the original payment method
  • Processing time: 5–10 business days (depending on payment provider)
  • Platform fees are non-refundable (both client and freelancer fees)
  • Any bank or currency conversion fees are deducted

6. Chargebacks

Filing a chargeback without using our dispute process violates this policy and may result in:

  • Immediate account suspension
  • Permanent ban from the platform
  • Legal action to recover funds and fees

We will provide full documentation to your bank if a chargeback is disputed.

Important: This Refund Policy may be updated. Continued use of NiceFreelance.com after changes means you accept the new terms.
